What a start to the spring!
We at Steam Brothers have been literally “swamped” with flooding and other water related issues at client locations. We just recently successfully completed our largest water damage to date. We had a call from a hotel that flooded from a broken sprinkler head. Not only did we complete this massive task, but we completed the project ahead of schedule and under budget. This not only saved the hotel and insurance company money, but most importantly time. Since everyday a guest room was out they lost revenue on that particular room.
All parties, hotel management, insurance company and myself were very satisfied of how well the project went from beginning to end. it was a great experience for us!!
Initial Response
When unprecedented water damage hits, your initial response is very important as it helps to prevent further damage. Once the flood begins to recede the task of water damage restoration starts right away. Removal of water and restoration of properties like floors, walls, carpets and furniture are really a surmounting monumental. Professional help is necessary for an effective water damage restoration. Only the professionals have the knowledge, expertise and the tools necessary for a complete water damage restoration.
Damaged materials may get damaged further due to increased vapor pressure and mold contamination. Your water damage restoration contractor should explain to you these secondary damages and the associated risks.
Let us know if you have any questions.

Its Been a While
Well hello everyone again, its been sometime since our last post. Here’s what’s been going on. Matt went off to Basic Military Training for the Air Force and them AIT where he received the Top Grad award and has been in continuing training since he returned. Matt has excelled in the Air Force learning new things everyday and was chosen to represent his base while greeting President Obama and working on Air Force One while the President was in Minnesota.
Nic, has done a tremendous job operating Steam Brothers while Matt was gone, also learning new things daily and having some on the job training in owning a business. Nic is now Lead certified and brings a lot of new knowledge in that part of our industry to our company especially when it comes to water damages.
Both Matt and Nic have had great learning experiences over this past year and have grown into better business men, but are excited to be back together raising the bar in professionalism and customer service in the cleaning and restoration industry.
Looking for some feedback
Dear Insurance Agents and Adjusters,
We are always looking to better our service for our customers and would like your feedback/ advice from your perspective. What can we do for you or your customers to make a traumatic experience of a water or fire damage into a positive, less stressful one?
Our goal is to provide the best customer service in the industry and we believe working together we can achieve that every time.
what to do if a pipe breaks
As we are all aware it is really cold outside. In a past post I have given some suggestions about how to reduce the risk of pipes freezing and breaking, but pipes still can freeze on you. So what do you do if a pipe breaks and water is spraying everywhere. The best thing to do is go straight to your main water shut off valve in your home and turn it off. (If you don;t know where this valve is you should locate it today, if you need help we are glad to assist you). Once the water is shut off you can determine exactly where the break is. Then give us a call at 952.898.4055 we will ask a few questions and then we will be on our way to remove the water from your home, we will also call our plumber if you would like to fix the broken pipe for you. During this time you can be removing books or paper from the area the water is located and wipe off any leather or wood work that has water on it to avoid water staining. If you have any questions about water damage a trained technician is available for you 24 hours a day at 952.898.4055.
Trauma Scene Clean Up
Sometimes our jobs here can get tough to do, today was one of those days. We had a call come in and it was for a clean up after someone had passed away. Although these jobs can be emotionally trying the family and others have so much more the cope with we feel blessed that we are able to perform these services with the highest level of professionalism and with compassion so the family doesn’t have to. What we do is completely clean and sanitize all affected areas and remove other affected areas that cannot be cleaned. While doing this we must take precautions to ensure the safety of anyone on the job site.
