What a start to the spring!

We at Steam Brothers have been literally “swamped” with flooding and other water related issues at client locations. We just recently successfully completed our largest water damage to date. We had a call from a hotel that flooded from a broken sprinkler head. Not only did we complete this massive task, but we completed the project ahead of schedule and under budget. This not only saved the hotel and insurance company money, but most importantly time. Since everyday a guest room was out they lost revenue on that particular room.

All parties, hotel management, insurance company and myself were very satisfied of how well the project went from beginning to end. it was a great experience for us!!

Trauma Scene Clean Up

Sometimes our jobs here can get tough to do, today was one of those days. We had a call come in and it was for a clean up after someone had passed away. Although these jobs can be emotionally trying the family and others have so much more the cope with we feel blessed that we are able to perform these services with the highest level of professionalism and with compassion so the family doesn’t have to. What we do is completely clean and sanitize all affected areas and remove other affected areas that cannot be cleaned. While doing this we must take precautions to ensure the safety of anyone on the job site.

Fire Damage

Well its been a little while since my last entry. I have been surrounded by a fairly big fire/smoke damage out in Maplewood. We got the house completely packed out for off site cleaning of the homeowner’s personal contents and I am all set to begin the structure cleaning on Monday. We will be getting the home ready for new carpet and a fresh coat of paint. Our goal is the get the homeowner and his family back into their home before Christmas. It will take some work, a team effort, and organization, but I am confident we can get it done.

Mold at rental property

I went and investigated a possible mold contamination today at a rental unit. Mold in rentals can be a very sensitive topic because its the tenent wanting one thing and the management company wanting another. This one is pretty straight forward and the management company approved the remeditation project. The next step I will take is getting a 3rd party mold inspection company in there to tell me what the mold count is and its severity. After that report comes back I will generate a plan to remediate the mold issue to the proper standards and in a efficient and safe way.

Current Projects

Hello everyone, its been a few days since my last post because I have been very busy. Right now we just finished up a home that had water damage to their kitchen wood floor and their basement bedroom. I was able to save everything in the bedroom by drying everything in place ceiling with sheetrock and plaster texture all affected wood, walls and carpet. I was able to save over 60% of the affected wood floor, but unable to save the rest due to the floor not having any way to introduce airmovement underneath. I am also currently drying out a water damaged church in St. Paul the roof failed during last weekends rains and flooded the main foyer area and offices. I am successfully drying out ceiling tiles, sheetrock, and wood all at once with dehumidification, airmovement, and heat. The progress I have made is about 75% dry on only just over 2 days worth of drying.
